Fabian Schroer - Guitar
Daniel Kluger - Guitar
Arne Timm - Keyboards
Attila Kornel - Bass
Simon Eggert - Drums

Description/Reviews
The band plays this deft combination of instrumental prog rock with heavy prog and progressive metal trappings.  They do very well at transitioning between those subgenres on a whim, and the instrumentation is tight and energetic.  Additionally, the band seems to be more confident than ever, and it shows in the strength of the solos and in the sheer force of every riff or beat or key press.  There are so many parts of this album that are the very definition of “sublime”.  Truly awe-inspiring material can be found on almost every track.

Description/Reviews
Progenie Terrestre Pura (PTP henceforth) are a progressive/industrial black metal trio from Italy. Their music tends toward the richer and more diverse aspects of black metal, utilizing a full-bodied production style to create smooth and heavy textures that incorporate a multitude of instruments and sounds outside of the expected tremolo-picked, blast beat goodness of more traditional black metal fare.

Jon (Earthling Society) - Drums, Percussion

Description/Reviews
Proceedings kick off with '7 Or 7 Or Not', a take on Hawkwind's '7 By 7' and is a wonderful swirling psychedelic track that harks back to the seventies. The guitar is reminiscent of Pink Floyd in their pomp - that same rich tone and meandering melody that has soundtracked a thousand trips..it is a lysergic journey that maintains a chilled aspect despite/because of some fantastic playing. The addition of some spacey electronica courtesy of Dr Space gives things an air of cosmic spacerock so beloved of Hawkwind. This is 'grown up' psychedelia - there is no bombastic shredding, just some pure and utter joyful music.

7. Penombra (7:01)

Total Time 46:34

Line-up
Lorenzo Nencini - drums
Laurence Cocchiara - violin
Emanuele Duchi - electric guitar

Description/Reviews
Bosco arises from the fusion of several genres such as stoner, sludge, post-core, progressive 70s rock, noise, classical music, folk and ambient.
The sound is a constant fluctuation between light and shadow, between delicate melodies and heavy distorted riffs, between slow cadenced rhythms and furious post-core and black metal rhythmic accelerations.
The dynamics and the expressiveness play a fundamental role thanks to the use of the violin, there are in fact crescendos and diminuendi to highlight a deep and enveloping 'wall of sound' made of harmonic intertwinings that dominate the tracks for all the duration of the pieces.

Description/Reviews
Berdreyminn is a much warmer, and in some ways, less intense and upbeat record; utilizing a hefty slab of 80s influence, from the synths to the guitar tones, solos, and even the galloping rhythm section. Anyone who liked the extreme, bleak isolation of Otta will probably be taken back at certain points by some the decisions they’ve made. However, in the context of the band’s progression as artists, it all seems to be the most natural choice for a great successor album. In spite of my fervent love for the wintry, windswept elements of the former, and the fact that’s what made their sound so appealing to me, Berdreyminn still brings the same level of quality, albeit in a different way.

Description/Reviews
While Montreal’s Cydemind use a violin prominently in their music, ... they sound more like if Tim Charles of Ne Obliviscaris joined Dream Theater…if they were an instrumental band.
While the band are all virtuosos, they don’t overplay necessarily. Yes the music is tight and quite technical at times, the band also understand the importance of the almightly riff and build their songs off of riffs rather than just soloing all over the place.

Richy Epolito - drums

Description/Reviews
The focus of Obsidion shifts more to atmosphere, story and lingering within their lush cosmic instrumental pocket. It is an album that may not be as instantly rewarding as Red Giant with its dramatic inclusion of some post-rock and metal elements. That said, the grooves and melodies, while often not as heavy, are every bit as catchy and enthralling. The layered depth of sound may be slower to appreciate initially but becomes much more gratifying over repeat listens.

Face-melting psychedelia opens up the album as Patkova, backed by ominous arpeggios and electronic squeaks, goes from a murmur to a shout. In four minutes, she reaches total abandon, and it sets the tone for the rest of the album, where anything can happen—as long as it’s in a minor key.

Description/Reviews
Maybe it’s because Powell is British, with the influence of King Crimson and other UK progressive music bred in the bone, but although he’s been Oslo-based since the turn of the millennium there’s an earthiness to Mumpbeak that sets them slightly apart from their Nordic nu prog peers.
His music has been compared to that of Crimson, ELP, and (inevitably) electric Miles Davis, and the truth is somewhere in the middle of that, favouring Miles’s dive into the drive of electrifying funk.

Description/Reviews
Mysterious Clouds was created to explore various forms of psychedelic music and the darker elements of nature with inspirations from 60’s Italian cinema, 70’s British TV action music, San Francisco hippie psychedelic rock, garage rock, and post-punk. The group’s latest offering, Panic on the Noon Meridian, explores the swirls of shoegaze rock, the space exploration of psychedelia, and the drone of ambient music while searching for inner truth in the cultural chaos. Like previous EPs Vibrations Shake the Path and Clear Reflection, the group continues to build on the fuzzed-out guitars, booming bass, and synthesizer-driven leads that define psychedelic rock. The difference, however, lies in the mood of the album – Panic on the Noon Meridian is a dark body of work, reflecting the changing times and turmoil in hearts, mind, and country.

Kennedy cites Pink Floyd as a major influence, which is evident from the very start. The title track Glow And Fade has a dreamy, vaguely-jazzy ambiance, reminiscent of Time and Us And Them (from The Dark Side Of The Moon), complete with vocal echo. In a similar manner to TDSOTM, sampled spoken voices are used to link the songs.

Description/Reviews
When guitarist-producer Jacob HOLM-LUPO (WHITE WILLOW, THE OPIUM CARTEL), flutist-keyboard player Ketil Vestrum EINARSEN (WHITE WILLOW, JAGA JAZZIST, WOBBLER, MOTORPSYCHO), guitarist Gaute STORSVE (RHYS MARSH) and drummer extraordinaire Mattias OLSSON (ÄNGLAGÅRD, PINEFOREST CRUNCH, PÄR LINDH, WHITE WILLOW, THE OPIUM CARTEL, NECROMONKEY) get together to create an album of music in tribute to the Kosmische Music (Krautrock) artists of the 1970s you can bet it's going to be a good one. And it is! Each song on the album is like listening to a drum, keyboard, and guitar clinic. It's as if JAGA JAZZIST and CAN were merged--as if Lars and Martin HORNTVETH were collaborating with Jaki LIEBEZEIT in this, the 21st Century with all of the gizmos and effects that give 21st Century musicians such versatility and variety. The bass is often keyboard or computer driven, but it works. Mattias' drumming blends computer technologies with the live kit sounds. The keyboard and guitar sounds and techniques used are all over the place. Overall, the music is derivative, yet experimental; it's rhythmic and yet avant; it's militaristic yet psychedelic. It's genius! (progisaliveandwell.blogspot.no)

Vitaly Kiselev - guitars, bass, programming
Alexander Malakhov - synthesizers

Description/Reviews
«The Ocean Of Unspoken Words» is Kiselev’s fourth studio album. It is completely instrumental and recorded in his own modest home studio. As always he used some of his old ideas, which were in an embryonic state and which incredibly transformed here into complex musical forms. This album is also written under impression of classical music such as works of Peter Tchaikovsky or Edward Grieg. However, inclusions of orchestration, the sounds of classical piano and organs, wrapped in a warm 70’s retro sound, are combined with heavy guitar riffs, seasoned with a variety of modern synth sounds.

Description/Reviews
Of course, the arrangements are arguably the most important part of any record, and Bubblemath “edits the hell out of all your peptides” by fashioning one of the most complex yet alluring sequences you’ll ever hear. Pieces like “Routine Maintenance” and “Perpetual Notion” explode with the biting riffs of Metallica and the grandiose zaniness of Native Construct, never letting up as they shift movements with an array of gripping melodies and timbres (including flutes, pianos, and miscellaneous effects), keeping your ears glued and your jaw dropped. In contrast, “Avoid that Eye Candy” and “A Void That I Can Depart To,” while still immensely decorative, are lighter in tone, focusing mostly on luscious yet quirky interlocking harmonies (although the latter piece also incorporates some ‘80s synth vibes and death metal vocals, a la Haken’s recent Affinity). There’s even a warm jazz-fusion aesthetic to “Making Light of Traffic” (thanks mostly to spurts of saxophone and a major sense of freeform playfulness), plus a staggering amount of rhythmic dexterity and dynamic temperamental deviations throughout “Destiny Repeats Itself.” (Seriously, just try to count all of the time signature changes.) As clichéd as it is to say, there’s not a dull moment on Edit Peptide, as each second offers an exuberantly exhaustive sonic pool in which to swim.

Description/Reviews
'The Second Hand' is Anubis' fourth studio record, and marks a return to the narrative driven concept album format. It charts the downfall of an aging media mogul, James Osbourne-Fox, who, after a severe brain injury is left paralysed and imprisoned in his own body and left to contemplate the futility of his life of corporate success.
The album seeks to address the notion of balance, the media's influence on those who consume it, and how the bias and hysteria benefits no-one but those who sign the cheques, dividing people and leading to political turbulence and unrest. The lyrics - written very early in 2016 - had, by the end of the year and recording process, become seemingly even more prescient with the media and moneyed interest's roles in influencing the results of referendums, elections and even conflicts worldwide.
